Chapter 20. Wolf

Adira’s POV

The next day, my eyes fluttered open when I heard growls. I tightened my robe as I got on the balcony and leaned over to see what was going on down there.

It was Azriel’s wolf. He was lying on his belly, rolling on the ground, and looking like he was having the time of his life. The wolf sensed me immediately and sat up, curiously looking at me. His neck tilted a bit and I mimicked his actions, he turned around and I did too. I was too bored with my life clearly, so here I was frustrating the poor predator. He started barking and growling at me and I did the same, my stance threatening as his.

“Wolf!” I heard Azriel call. “What are you—” He stopped his sentence as his eyes met mine on the balcony. He visibly swallowed and nodded his head once before crouching down to pet wolf.

“Why do you have a wolf? You’re a werewolf,” I said.
