Chapter 65. The River by the Lake House
I arrived at my Uncle’s penthouse. The most significant time I was here was the night I got a harrowing call from my Aunt. At the time I only gave a damn about her so when I heard she was hurt, I dropped everything. I didn’t know how my life would change forever when I turned home after so many years.
Even better than that was the night I met a petite human in a pink uniform. I saw the fire in her eyes and the fearlessness in her tone. I was gone instantly. My wolf knew she was the one for me.
Sometimes I wake up before her just to watch her sleep soundly beside me. Paris was my peace when the world was against me. I hated the thought of someone trying to hurt her. I recalled the way she curled herself into a ball when she slept. She made it impossible to spoon her most times. Why would anyone want to harm my precious Kitten? Especially her brother. If my sister survived the car crash no one would as much as have looked at her the wrong way.
