Chapter 64. Gun from the Past

Paris POV

“I’m glad the house arrest is over,” I said at breakfast.

“Loki isn’t.”

I giggled. On top of making Loki pay for the door he broke Marcel ordered the end of the house arrest which meant I could go to work again.

“I have to find a new pack house. The last thing I want to do is use my family house as an office.”

“You don’t use it for anything else,” I said.

“Yes, but I like it that way. It’s like stopping the clock in a way.”

Marcel didn’t like talking about his family but I knew there was a lot of hurt there. He wasn’t ready to open up yet and I wondered if he would ever be ready to talk about it.

His phone rang, he pulled it from his jacket pocket and pressed it to his ear. I picked up the dirty plates and dumped them in the dishwasher.

“This better not be about my relationship with Paris,” Marcel barked.

I cringed. Couldn’t they give it a rest?

Marcel caught me watching and turned his back.
