Chapter 14. The Fine Line

Kailani’s POV

I became conscious of my environment and my lashes fluttered to the night light of the day shooting through the window and I wondered how long I have been asleep. I let out a light moan and twisted around in bed to find Edward fast asleep behind me. His hair looked ruffled by the sheets and the snores he made were almost unheard, but I could still hear them and they were cute.

I couldn’t stay in bed all day. I had a few things to do. It was the full moon and everything had to be in place.

I pulled myself onto my elbow and I heard a growl from behind. “Leaving already?”

I guess he wasn’t as asleep as I thought.

“Staying in bed after spending the night together wasn’t part of our agreement was it?” I cocked a brow at him.

“Don’t go,” he growled.

“The sun is up. I know you could stay in bed all day and have people do things for you, but some of us do not have that luxury.” I rose to my feet, not failing to notice his linger
