Chapter 79. Two Torn Mates

Mia paced around in the uppermost part of the High Tower, restless. She could feel every emotion Xavier felt on the battlefield. These emotions ranged from anger to fear, uncertainty, and pessimism, and in the past hour, she had felt the fear emotions more than anything else. Xavier was afraid. Something had him afraid on the battlefield, and it made her uneasy. He had made her stay back, insisting this was better, but this was no better because she felt as if she were on the battlefront as well.

She should have stood her ground and gone with him, a part of her thought, but she knew Xavier had also made her stay back because he wanted her to lead the allies coming from Klean as soon as they arrived.
