Chapter 37. Sinister

Devyn’s POV

I was informed by the elders who dwelled at the Sacred Burial Grove that someone had died.

Killed evidently.

The most tragic part of it all was that it was a child. The mother had gone out to search for her son when he’d gone out to play with his friends but didn't come back. That’s when she found his corpse.

Death was a normal circumstance, even for we werewolves who couldn't die from common injuries and sicknesses. But death like this was far from common, and that left me feeling uneasy.

‘What is the situation over there?’ I sent a telepathic message to Liam who responded almost immediately.

‘It’s worse than I thought, like nothing I’ve ever seen.’

Not sure of what to expect, I braced myself for the worst.
