Chapter 516. Nose To Nose

Wren POV

I feel comfortable in Destin’s cabin. I could see myself living here, away from the prying eyes of the werewolves and the Fae. If only he could see how perfect it would be. Instead, he continues to fight me at every turn. I decide that while I am here, I am going to live in my fairy tale and pretend like it is perfect.

The air in the bathroom changes as I rinse the shampoo from my hair. I freeze with my hands in my hair. Someone has opened the door.

“Hello?” I call out stupidly.

There is no response. Maybe I am only imagining things, but the feeling that I am being watched makes me hurry through the rest of my shower.

Sliding the shower door open just a crack, I peek my head out. I was right. I am not alone. Destin is standing in the doorway.

There is an unreadable expression on his face, and I get the feeling I have made a mistake. “I see you decided to forgo the guest room.”
