I bit back a smile at the look of utter fascination playing across Astrid's face as she watched Meredith do a dramatic twirl and an exaggerated bow.

"My name is Astrid Tau; I'm the most awesome, the strongest, and the fairest of them all."

I breathed out a laugh and tightened my arms around Astrid.

"That's genuinely very disturbing," she said in response to Meredith's parody, even though her lips had begun to curl up in a smile slowly. "Also, I do not sound like that at all."

"Sure, you do," Meredith replied as she straightened from her curtsy and moved to sit at the foot of the bed.

"Why are you… me?" Astrid stuttered, still clearly shaken by the fact that she was staring at herself from an entirely different point of view.

"Ah, I just wanted to get a taste of what it feels like to be an alpha's daughter."

She rolled her eyes playfully and made to sit up from my arms, but I held her back.

"Hope you met my brother."
