Chapter 78. The Vision

I was surrounded by fog. My eyes roamed around trying to figure out where I was. I walked around aimlessly, not knowing or seeing where I was going. Soon, I felt multiple eyes on me, but saw no one. I paused in my track.

“Hello? Is anyone here?” I asked, my voice weak. My wolf snickered at me.

“This isn’t the time to use a sweet soft voice, Astrid. You are not with Magnus.” She scoffed before retreating back into my mind. She sounded tired. My eyes lit up at the mention of Magnus.

“Magnus? Magnus? Where are you?” I screamed, straining my eyes. The fog was too thick that I couldn’t even see my outstretched hand.

Something ran past me with an unearthly speed, disappearing into the fog. I stood rooted in fear. I knew I wasn’t hallucinating when I felt eyes on me.
