Chapter 220. A Fresh Look

Ryder’s POV.

I got news that Lucas and his mother were back. I had expected them soon anyway because I had my men looking them up and monitoring their every movement so that I wouldn't be caught unawares.

They were meant to arrive today, and they did. As soon as they got back, I watched them from my room as their car drove into the compound and parked. They got down, and Lucas helped his mom carry a few bags that I felt contained clothes. It seemed like the lady liked shopping.

From the window, I saw them walk up the stairs, come into the door, and then head to the part of the mansion that they were staying in, which was the visitor's quarters. In my mind, I almost groaned because I thought we were past this. I thought after they left, I would never have to see them again and they would just go back to whatever hole they crawled out of, but that was wishful thinking. I was so glad the whole incident with the vampires was over now and I could focus squarely on Luc
