Chapter 282. A Necessary Act

“Maybe I shouldn’t have done those things but you will never be able to understand how I felt because you neglected me, because you didn’t pay any attention to me. Because you treated me like crap.”

“It’s too late to think about such things. I have come to tell you John that while you are here you must understand that you were very cruel and feel sorry for it. Your niece didn’t deserve everything that happened to her and neither did your brother. I want you to know that.”

I hadn’t realized that tears were falling down my cheeks as I spoke and I only realized when I had turned to leave. I hated what I was doing but I had to do it. It was necessary.  Way too necessary.

Absolutely necessary.

“Lupita wait.”

I turned around to look at him. He stood up and came to stand by the bars thy separated us.

“What is it?”

“If I promise you that I regret everything I did now and I wish I didn’t do them, would you believe me? Would you accept my pl
