Chapter 56. Taking Daphne Shopping

Daphne didn’t seem to be enjoying being out so much, but she at least seemed to enjoy my company. She clung to my arm and took my hands whenever I offered it to her. We were together for a good part of the day and seeing her feeling freer talking to me made me happy.

After we were done for the day we started on our way back to the mansion. I wanted us to stop and see a play for a while but Daphne seemed tired already.

As soon as we got back to the mansion Sheila bid the both of us goodnight and went away to her room. With Daphne’s hand in mine we made our way into the mansion and then to my quarters. We stopped briefly at my mother’s lodge where herself and Daphne talked briefly about a few things. It was beautiful seeing my mother and Daphne getting along so well.

It warmed my heart.
