Emma has devoured three pancakes with syrup already, whilst watching and listening to the three girls talk and ramble about school and college. Eva was taking the lead in her class.

But why won’t she? Emma thought. She was an Alpha’s daughter. Her cognitive abilities should be higher than the rest in her class.

She wanted to ask her about the young boy that usually walked with her, but decided it was better to ask in secret, not wanting to embarrass the little girl who had confided in her.
