Chapter 15. Enjoying the View, Mate?

Damien’s POV

“I will pick up that nurse’s outfit tomorrow, Red!” I winked, heading out the door she held open for me, turning in the hallway to lean up the doorframe; looking at her, I could see the dark circles forming under her eyes. I guess it had been a long few days for her. “Make sure you lock this behind me.” I nodded towards the door, keeping my tone gentle, not wanting to scare her, but frankly, I wasn’t comfortable leaving her here. “This neighbourhood isn’t the best; there are some right crazies that hang around in these parts.”

“Yeah, one of them is at my door right now!” She teased with a roll of her beautiful emerald eyes. “And one lives just over there.” She grinned, lowering her voice. Her girlish giggle had me smiling. She was adorable!

“My point exactly!” My lips curled up into a smirk, I didn’t want to leave, but she needed rest! “Night Red.” Nodding towards the door, I stepped back from the doorframe. “Lock it! Ok!”
