Chapter 72. Where Is She?

Damien’s POV

Ares had been given free rein of my body and, with it, the opportunity to act upon his deep yearning to mate and claim my ruby jewel as his own. The animal he was, wanted to mark her desperately and fill her fertile womb with as many pups as possible! Leaving no doubt that she belonged to us!

When condemned to the void by whatever the fuck was lurking in the shadows of the woods, I found myself surrounded by never-ending nothingness, no familiar smells or flickers of light, just oblivion! Until I heard Ares call for me subconsciously- he needed me! And as much as it irked me to admit, I had grown used to his chatter the last few days and felt empty without him.

Something in his tone screamed pain, dread and uncontrollable anger; I had thought wrongly that he wouldn’t have held back if allowed to do as he liked with Red! Instead, he had respected both Red and me! I was beyond grateful and not embarrassed to say proud of him and our bond!
