Chapter 114
Henry felt like the world was collapsing around him as he finally left the commander’s tower. Walking through the corridors, he headed toward the wine room, entered, and sat in a chair. Servants were coming and going, stocking the hall for the banquet that would take place in a few hours. When a servant passed him with a pitcher, he grabbed it and started drinking its entire contents. Unfortunately, Henry had extensive experience with alcoholic beverages and had built up a resistance to that wonderful light and intoxicating effect… he would have to drink a lot to feel even a fraction of what humans experienced with just a few glasses. But it wasn’t impossible, so he kept drinking until he finished the pitcher, then grabbed another.
