Chapter 119

Thomas Sallow assessed the female as she gripped her cane tightly. Her amber eyes had a white ring in the center. Thomas knew he should say something to her, but for a few seconds he could only watch her as she clutched the cane closer to herself.

It was then that Sallow suddenly became aware of the scent of the female. He inhaled the delicious smell of her hair; he had never experienced a scent like that before. She was not a wolf. She smelled like a sorceress, but she seemed to be a hybrid... suddenly, something awoke within him, something fierce and intense.

It took two seconds to notice the pressure of his excitement pressing against his pants, his body responding to that intoxicating aroma. His reflexes must have been terrible because the female hit him squarely on the temple with her cane.

“Who are you?” she shouted as she held the cane with both hands as if it were a powerful weapon. Thomas ran his fingers along the trickle of blood that ran down from his tem
