Aina POV

I woke to find Osborne’s side of the bed empty. Seriously? Did he forget this was supposed to be our honeymoon?

Then it hit me, crashing down like a wave—the memories of last night. Honeymoon? Did I forget what had happened? My mood plummeted.

I needed answers, and I needed them now. I jumped out of bed and went straight to the bathroom. No wasting time, not even a second.

By the time I finished getting ready, I had already decided. I picked up my phone and called my mom. I knew things must be hard for her, facing my dad after everything, but I didn’t care. I needed to know the truth.

“Mom,” I said when she picked up.

“Aina,” her voice cracked on the line. “I’ll be coming to you today—no, we will.”

Hearing how broken she sounded left me speechless.

“Okay, Mom. I’ll be waiting,” I said quietly, and the line went dead.
