Emily's POV

I slowly opened my eyes, head banging and my body still weak, but something about me felt different. I could not tell what it was, but I could feel it deep within me.

"Hey, are you okay?" I heard Berton's voice and slowly opened my eyes to look at him. He was sitting right beside me and I could see dark circles beneath his eyes. What was he doing here?

"Berton, what's going on?" I asked, but the voice sounded raspy. He quickly poured water into a cup and handed the cup to me. Without hesitation, I reached for the cup then drank everything inside before passing it back.

Now I felt a lot better and could finally talk clearly. "What happened? Why are you here?" I asked and looked around, but I was in my room.
