Chapter 42. Seeking Ends Meet

Emily's POV

Despite being busy, Berton didn't do anything to neglect me. Even though the duration of our agreement had ended, I guessed we'd found peace with each other and that was why we continued to live together. He was kind and always made sure that I was comfortable. One morning as we sat together to have breakfast, I couldn't help but thank him about everything he'd done for me.

I had double thoughts about bringing it up to him later on, but something told me that that was the best time to bring it up.
