Chapter 47. Jealousy and Confusion

I was still reeling from the message my mother had sent. The picture of Emily and Sam haunted me. Despite the fact that it looked so real, with the both of them being so close and their eyes locked, I knew there was no way Emily was ever going back to him. He'd treated her so badly, and from the irreparable strain of their relationship, I knew there was no way they were getting back together. But I was reminded that everything was possible and this wasn't an exception.
I opened my phone and glanced at the photo again. It made my heart race, with jealousy and confusion. He was holding her hand and their faces were usually close, for people that were at loggerheads with each other. I wondered if this could be real, if Emily was hiding something from all this while.
