HAZEL
One thing I did not expect was for Gabriel Hayes to be a fashionista. Seriously, we’ve been into four stores and spent at least thirty minutes in each one trying on clothes and having our own catwalk around the racks and changing rooms. He was trying on blazers, suits, pants, and shirts—building outfits with everything from socks to hats and I was folding over in laughter, almost falling on the floor from some of the concoctions he made up.
Let’s just say that red wasn’t his color and he should never be allowed to wear a top hat.
Gabe held three bags in his hands and I had two of my own. It had been two good hours of shopping and my stomach hurt from all the laughing—above all there had been no serious frowns or death attempts. Was this what a calm life felt like? Huh, I could get used to it.
