Chapter 14. He Leaves

 A terrifying wave settles in the canteen. After my words, it immediately fell silent. Surprised I look around and when my eyes fall on Clarita, I notice her eyes big and mouth wide open. Frowning, I turn to Alpha Glary now, he wears a grin on his face. But it doesn't reach his cold eyes.

“Hmmm, no problem, Beta. We'll get there. As we get to know each other, you will get used to my presence”, he answers confidently. Well, I don't think so, but I'm not speaking my mind out loud. My appetite is down to zero, so I get up. “Excuse me, I'm leaving. I still have a few things to do”, I say to Clarita. I take my tray and empty it into the garbage. With a wave to my girlfriend who is still staring at me, I walk out of the canteen. In the hallway, I recheck my schedule and see that I have an hour free before returning to Science class. I decide to visit the library and work ahead of the lessons.
