Chapter 22
“Not at all.” Luck ate one more bite of the pasta; the man had a good appetite; she seemed to have the plate almost intact, just as the waiter had brought it, and Luck had more than a quarter of it; the man was a good eater, she wondered where he put so much food, then he said, “Besides, this wasn’t just any woman.”
Hunger shone in the perfect pair of sapphires, her whole body felt numb as well as alive under that hungry male gaze, for a moment doubts assaulted her, but her eyes could not be lying.
“Luck...” She whispered barely a whisper; she didn’t know what to say. Was that all some kind of confusion? Could his mind be playing with her that badly? That couldn’t be happening.
He is your boss!
