Chapter 24
He’s so small..., she thought, Emma didn’t have much familiarity with cats or animals in general; she had barely had one as a child; Rodolfo had been an adult cat by the time she came home and died years ago of old age, after him she hadn’t considered having pets and never thought about a small kitten.
The kitten raised its little head while she placed a bowl with some of the warm milk. To her joy, the little feline drank the whole bowl quickly, which only made her think how long it had been starving; she put it back in her arms and walked to the living room; she stopped when the cat raised his head, looking towards the window from where she had brought him, for a moment she thought he wanted to go back, he was waiting for his mother, he wanted to be somewhere else than near her or any human and although the thought saddened her she also understood it.
