“No, but she has met him once.”

“So you’ve been mated with a wolf?” I asked. I didn’t mean to ask personal questions.

“Yes, but after Lucinda was born I had to reject him and stay away and hide Lucinda as people wanted her. She’s powerful. She’s a hybrid with Queen blood and Monarch’s blood.”

I sighed. “I wish she’d told me sooner.”

“I’m sorry. She was scared you’d hate her.”

“I would still love her. I do love her.”

“He’s dead,” I said.
