Elara’s POV

I could hear the ceremonial hall buzzing with anticipation, the low hum of voices rolling through the air like distant thunder as we went down the stairs.

“Nervous?” Kieran asked.

“A bit. I wasn’t expecting everyone to gather just to hear me talk,” I said with an awkward laugh.

“You’re their Luna. Of course, they want to hear you for themselves.” He gave my hand a gentle squeeze.

“You look beautiful, Elara,” Tobias said as he joined us at the base of the stairs.

“Thank you,” I said, blushing a bit.

“Stop blushing, he’s a taken man,” Kieran teased.

That made me laugh out loud, “Yeah, I’m very aware.”

Tobias grinned and turned to Saffron. “You’re more beautiful, honey bun of oats.”

My jaw hit the floor. I turned slowly to Kieran, whose expression went so dark, I genuinely thought he was about to strangle Tobias.
