Layla's POV

Nate was the last person I wanted to think about yet I found myself thinking about him more than anything. Part of me wanted to not believe everything I have just heard even when it was staring me right in the face.

“You are awake.” I heard Maya say as I stepped out of the room into a clearing. I looked around the environment with rows of houses surrounded by mountains. It is true what they say about Maya’s pack. It was a stronghold that appeared ordinary in the outside but one would never know what lay ahead.

“I need to get out of here. I cannot let Nate find me.”

I said and she rushed to me and guided me to sit in the balcony of the building. I could see some people going about their business.

“You still haven’t told me why you are running away from my cousin. I am sure someone must have seen us or connected the dots that since we both seemed to have left the pack at the same time, we are in the same place. So, tell me wha
