I decided to change my tactics. I knew that looking at him, begging him to understand that something seemed to be wrong, would be useless even if I didn’t say anything. The other werewolves didn’t seem stunned by the way Randall acted. Marcus even seemed to have a frown, as if that exposure by Leanna was considered an unsuited humiliation. He should know what her intention was. I should have known that she seemed to be noticing the changes in me and had been planning something against me for a long time.
So, looking at him, I had the idea of confronting Leanna in front of as many ears as would pay attention. If she had reason to distrust me, then I would have to know how to argue very well, because I had already been getting ideas about her for a considerable time, and I had a sense of the direction things were taking. It was all or nothing.
