Chapter 171

Isaiah groaned as his muscles began to protest from lying on something rough and hard. He felt like he was sleeping on the floor. The floor? He could hear someone calling out to him and it took a minute for his eyes to open. He still felt a bit sluggish from last night.

He looked up and saw his mother stroking his hair. She gave him a comforting smile to which he returned until he saw they weren’t alone. Over a dozen pairs of eyes were staring at them. He quickly sat up and saw their predicament. They were in a dungeon.

“What… happened?” Isaiah asked.

“It seems we were all drugged,” Bella said.

“Never trust a pretty girl,” Alistar grumbled. “Especially if she gives you unnecessary compliments.”

“What about Zira and Arias?” Isaiah asked, trying to get up. He looked around the crowd and didn’t see them. “Are they OK?”
