My hatred for the man could not overpower the bond that we shared.

I figured it was because I was in so much pain, anger and hunger that I had not recognised him as my mate, and only did when my head was in the right place.

Ever since he left the room, I couldn't get him out of my head. There was a contrast in emotion between my head and my heart. My head couldn’t and didn’t want to accept the fact that Zion was our mate, but my heart was fighting me on it.
