Chapter 4
A teen boy was seen taking a nap under a massive oak tree. He had brown curly hair, which marked the colour of his skin and made him cuter. A sudden, fast-approaching footstep jolted him out of his sleep, and with the expression on his face, one could easily tell that he looked very pissed or rather angry.
He bellowed angrily, squeezing his hand at the same time. "If Jake or Ariel were here, I am sure they would have decapitated you all without warning or mercy."
The Alpha stepped forward, and one could see that he looked like a ravenous lion, ready to devour his prey at any moment. "Jack, I am asking you for the last time. Release the map; maybe I might consider sparing you or granting you an easy death." The Alpha warned in a dangerous voice.
Jack gives an insignificant scoff before dipping his hand into his backpack as if he is going to bring out the map. Instead, he threw two silver knives, which struck two wolves in the forehead, and they both went down dead.
This provokes the alpha, as his eyes turn red and he charges toward Jack with an uppercut. But he quickly evades the punch and retaliates by elbowing the alpha hard on the back of the neck. He spins back and kicks the alpha in the back, and the latter collides with a nearby tree.
"I won't tolerate such humiliation from you, little kiddo." The alpha utters these words with a voice full of venom.
"Bring it on, mother f**ker," Jack challenges him while posing himself in fighting stances. "I am sure you will not last another minute with me."
"Charge!" the Alpha screamed. "Kill him and retrieve the scroll." The wolf shrieked loudly and started transforming.
They rushed at Jack, who had already taken a posture, ready to pounce on them. Before they could even think of slashing him with their claws, Arrow flew out of nowhere and hit some wolves in the eyes while the rest moved back in shock.
"I haven't had a tough fight since years ago," a blonde girl with a black hair tie in a ponytail uttered as she moved toward the jack.
"Where is Jake?" Jack asked, moving closer to Ariel.
"Here I come, buddy." A well-built boy utters whilst moving toward them with a large amount of banana that seems to weigh more than him.
"I can't believe these little night-walking creatures are about to spoil my lunch," Jake uttered with a disgusting voice.
"You will all pay for slaying my pack members," the Alpha explained. "I won't spare anyone among you."
"Shut up, Alpha Thane!" Ariel snapped. The Alpha and his pack look at each other with shock written all over their faces. No one has ever dared call their Alpha by name. Not even his beta dared do that, but here he is, being mocked by a little girl.
"Don't be surprised," Ariel mocked him again. "I am older than your Alpha here; get that into your silly head."
"Attack!" Alpha Thane screamed. He runs toward Jack while the rest of the wolves face Ariel and Jake. But Jake mysteriously evaporates from the spectacle with the fruit, leaving Ariel, who doesn't even bother to call him back with the wolves.
"Killing spree!" Jack screams, and his eyes turn deep red while his body conflagrates with fire. With all the speed his power could offer, he charged to meet Alpha Thane, who had already transformed into a huge silver wolf.
Ariel brings out two short flatware daggers from her inner cavity and cuts into the wolf's midst. She dodged a claw aimed at her face and thrust her short dagger into the wolf's heart. She heard the wolf growling in pain as her dagger struck home.
She felt a claw slashing her from behind, and blood dripped down from the wound. She turned back and decapitated the wolf's head while the rest moved back. Ariel signals for them to barrage again, and they charge at her without hesitation. She also ran to meet them, cutting them down with a speed the wolves couldn't phantom. Within a few minutes, five wolves had already laid down dead, with their heads decapitated.
"Awesome, I love bloodshed," Jake utters under the mango tree where Jack was sitting earlier, munching on the fruit as if his life depended on it.
Alpha Thane tried to whack Jack, but he held his punch and twisted Alpha's hand, which made him scream, and a cracking of bones was heard.
"I am dangerous when in killing spree mode," Jack whispers into the alpha's ear. "You should have run when you had the chance."
The alpha cried in pain and twisted his body while he used his toe claw to slash Jack in the face.
"I don't drive away from fights, little kid." Alpha Thane growled. Jack made to attack him again, but Alpha Thane had already sent a punch to his chest, which was too late to circumvent. Jack felt his body slamming against Jake, who never let go of the fruit.
Ariel, on the other hand, grabs the last wolf and thrusts a silver knife into his shoulder while he screams out in discomfort and anguish.
"Go and tell the rest of the pack that Ariel Maka Rachel is not to be messed with," Ariel utters and releases the wolf while he scrambles to safety. She dusts her clothes without looking like someone who just finished killing a pack of wolves, except for the blood that stains some parts of her body and her wound, which seems to be healing. Well, we can't compare a long-ago ancient being with numerous battle experiences with the new turn wolves.
Alpha Thane, seeing that all his soldiers have been killed. He changed his direction and escaped from the beings, but not without warning them of his revenge.
"Lazy Alpha!" Jake hissed, but Ariel knocked him on the head and let out a small giggle.
