That same night, Samantha crept into Menar’s quarters, her steps light and deliberate. The warrior looked up in surprise, suspicion flickering in her eyes. But Samantha’s trembling lips and tear-streaked face softened her guard.
With hushed words and a voice choked with grief, Samantha poured out her poisoned tale.
