Gamma Liam took her Lucian and they were on their way through the pack’s heart, Philipa’s sharp eyes caught more than just scenery. She noted the way border ranks were layered—guards, scouts, and hidden watchers placed in careful order like pieces on a board. It was a system of such perfection she could hardly fathom it. Turning to Lucian as they walked, she said in an admiring tone, “Your borderlines are… remarkable. I have never seen such discipline.”

Lucian only smiled faintly, neither confirming nor denying, offering her no words. That silence unsettled her more than a boastful answer would have.
