Lucian’s heart was heavy with worry. Now that Selena was his mate, the thought of sending her back to the Gamma’s estate filled him with fear. The danger there was real—too real. What if something happened to her before he could stop it?
“Lucian,” Selena said softly, taking his hand. Her eyes were steady, though he could see the worry behind them. “You can’t keep me hidden. If I disappear now, they’ll know something is wrong. They’ll be more suspicious. We can’t risk it.”
Lucian clenched his jaw. “Then let’s tell Damian everything now. He’ll know what to do. I won’t lose you, Selena. Not after I just found you.”
But Selena shook her head gently. “Not yet. I’ll be careful. I promise. But we can’t draw attention too soon. Let me go back… let me help you protect Ella and the pack. Please.”
