Diana’s POV
After a few seconds, he let out a breath and nodded quietly. Arthur let me lead as the staff took me to the private table upstairs, with the most beautiful view of this city. I took out my files and sat down. So did Arthur.
I removed my mask to talk.
“So, what do you want to eat?”
“Water.” He replied with deadpan eyes.
I rolled my own.
“Come on, Arthur. Why do you keep doing that?”
“To be honest, kid, I find my presence here unnecessary. What do you want?”
My jaw dropped as I finally got a clear sound of his surprisingly raspy voice.
“So you are capable of speaking more than a sentence. And did you just call me kid?”
He raised one of his eyebrows, and I didn’t need to know him well to understand what it meant.

“The reason why want you here is because I want to know you.”
