Chapter 35
Grace’s POV
Kimberly gathered me in her arms the moment she opened the door, and I lay still in the warmth of her embrace, struggling to keep the tears back.
“Hush. It’s going to be okay, Grace.” She stroked my back as she spoke, and I was momentarily comforted.
She ushered me into the living room, and I settled into the seat, tired and grateful. I had stopped at the hospital, and the doctors assured me my baby was fine.
“Ten toes and ten fingers. A healthy baby girl.”
Another daughter. A sister for Daisy.
Tears sprang to my eyes when I remembered Kelvin’s words.

“It’s a baby girl,” I said to Kimberly, who had tears in her eyes too.
“That’s wonderful. She is going to be beautiful, like you.”
