Kelvin’s POV
My eyes followed her as she dragged the overnight bag behind her. She was finally leaving, and it felt surreal.
“Grace, please give me a chance to talk to you,” I said as she moved to the door. She was wearing baggy black jeans and a thick yellow sweater that made her look bigger.
She turned to face me, and I could see the tiredness in her eyes. I wondered if she was sick.
“I don’t have anything to say to you, Kelvin.”
“We need to talk,” I rasped and moved to stand next to her. I was glad Kira had come to pick up the kids. It was going to be hard on them watching Grace leave.
“Talk about what? Your distrust for me or your obsession with your ex-wife?”
I let the insult slide and held one of her palms in mine, stroking gently.
“I’m going to miss you, Grace. I don’t know about love, but I feel something deep for you. You are everything I think about even when I don’t want to.”
