Chapter 124. It’s Setback, Not Failure

Gael briefly parked at a restaurant and brought Alicia and Abigail meals before dropping them off at their respective homes. They were very grateful to him and thanked him a lot when he dropped them off.

“Are you going home or to the mansion?”, he asked Blue after dropping the women off.

“The mansion, ma’am might need me, and I need to make sure she’s alright”,

“And you? Are you okay?”,

“Hm,”she nodded,”I’m good, just a little exhausted,”she said, smiling.

He smiled back and hit the road. They were quiet for some minutes before Gael broke the ice.

“You left early”, he began,”you weren’t there anymore when I woke up”,

“Yeah, I didn’t want to disturb you and you were sleeping like a log of wood so..”,

“You don’t have to insult me you know”.

She chuckled,”But that wasn’t a lie”,

“I was drunk and deep asleep”,

“Yeah..I noticed. I have to get back to work the next day, so I can’t sleep deeply like you”.

He scoffed st
