Chapter 53. How People Change

Christian soon arrived inside and met Ashley looking worried instead of happy since it was her birthday but he didn’t have the time to start worrying about her, rather he asked,

“Have you seen my wife?”,

“Where have you been?”, Ashley glared at him angrily,

“Huh?”,

“Where were you when she was being bullied?”,

“Bullied? By who?”.

Ashley inhaled deeply looking so worried hesitating to tell him knowing what he was capable of but Christian soon began to hear the murmurs.

“He’s so handsome, how could he go for a woman like that”, he heard one of the guests say,

“I’m sure she deceived him”, another woman added,

Christian frowned upon hearing lots of absurd rumors that he didn’t want to believe it was for his wife.

“The party is noisier than I have thought”.

He said a familiar voice said beside him and looked at him,

“Your wife that you were looking for seems to have to keep the guest entertained before the celebrant
