Amelie’s POV

I couldn’t believe Carrington had done that for me. My dream of giving back to the community was coming true.

I returned to my seat, shaking with emotion. Nathan knew just what to do. He hugged me tight.

“I know this is overwhelming,” he said. “Just center yourself and let the emotions out.”

Nathan always knew what to say to make me feel better. I clung to him, and he held me as if he would never let me go.

“Feeling a bit more level?” Nathan asked.

“Yes, thank you. It’s just so much,” I replied.

“I know. Grandfather can be over the top sometimes,” Nathan stated.

“Oh, really? I know a certain someone who seemed to pick up that Michaels trait as well,” I giggled.
