Amelie’s POV

Stacks of letters, jewelry, and other keepsakes poured out of the back of my mom’s jewelry box. I didn’t even know the back panel could be removed. I picked up a picture that had fallen out of the frame.

Why is my mom kissing Uncle Billy? My heart dropped to my stomach when I realized something. If he were really my Uncle Billy, wouldn’t he have taken us in when my parents died? I searched through all the hidden contents for additional pictures.
