Chapter 31. Late-Night Conversations Before Bedtime
Once she got home, Lani took a shower and rested for a while, as she hadn’t slept much the previous night, feeling tired and drained. Skipping lunch, she drifted off. When she woke up, she had no idea what time it was.
A faint warmth on her lips made Lani groggily open her eyes, only to find Kane had returned without noticing. He was gently kissing her. Perhaps Kane had intended for a light kiss, but upon seeing Lani waking up, his eyes brightened. He embraced her shoulders, leaning down further to deepen the kiss.
Lani, helpless in Kane’s embrace, could only let him playfully tease her, her lips both warm and tingling. When the kiss ended, Lani’s lips were soft and glossy, and Kane gently stroked them.
“Do you remember what I said at noon?”
Kane raised an eyebrow, lightly tracing the faint hickey on Lani’s collarbone, a subtle invitation in his gaze. Lani coughed lightly, feigning forgetfulness.
