Mabel POV

The look in Mama's eyes was desolate.

She tried to conceal her emotions, but I could see the emotions... the desire to reconnect with her longtime friend.

I turned to Alec— it wasn’t over yet, not until we let it.

“Can we catch Veronica at the airport?”

Ruth’s eyes widened with determination. “Yes! We stop her before she boards.”

“Alec, you have the connections,” Kyu-hun chipped in. “We just need to know which airport she’s headed to. A few minutes could be enough.”

Alec didn't hesitate as he stepped away to call Mr. Martins again.

“Hello, Martins. I need to know which airport she’s heading to… Yes, it’s for reconciliation reasons. Thank you.”
