Chapter 55

It was evening at Ryan's house, and Stacy had arrived there, as it had been marked in her schedule for his session. As usual, he had served the fruit he figured was her favorite on a plate, and a nice, tasty high-quality champagne to accompany it.

Though she would always refuse his kind gesture, he would not give up until she had yielded.

"We have been so distant these days, Doctor Stacy," Ryan mentioned with a modest smile as he took the seat beside Stacy after their first routine checkup.

"Sorry about that. I've had quite a lot on my schedule these days," Stacy said with an apologetic look, knowing what he said was true.

"That is fine. I have been busy too," he responded with a light chuckle, while tapping rhythmically on his lap like he had more to say than just what he had said. He wanted to tell her everything that was going on with him, and what had kept him busy at the hospital. Every single detail.

"How have you been doing?" Stacy inquired
