As soon as I reached the backyard I got down and quietly walked toward the manor.

My mother was not keeping well lately so two days ago she was admitted to St. Jude’s hospital in London. I did not know if she was happy for me or not as I never asked but she did not say anything before leaving for not being able to attend my wedding and so I decided to stay at my grandfather’s villa as I did not get any peace of mind when Amanda and Larry were around. My aunt insisted I stay at her place, but I refused. 

As I walked across the library I saw that the lights were on and people were laughing inside. I wondered who would have come to the manor this late and gone and peeped inside the window.
