Chapter 42. It's Hard to Swallow
It was only at this point that the worry etched on Flora's face started to ease. Accepting the piece of paper from the doctor, she nodded:
"I will have it prepared right away."
Having said this, she hurriedly exited the sickroom.
In the sickroom, now filled with the scent of disinfectant, only the unconscious man remained on the bed, alongside the doctor in his white lab coat, and the silent six-year-old boy.
The boy furrowed his brows, gently tucking in his father. Then he turned to look at the doctor, his expression unchanging, asking: "Is my father really alright?"
"Of course he is. Don't you trust the doctor?" The doctor forced a smile, feeling a little uncomfortable under the intense gaze of the child.
