Chapter 53

Caroline’s POV

All I could hear was the sound of the hospital machine. I couldn’t feel what they were doing to my face because of the anesthesia they injected into me. I could see nothing but the strong beam of what was hitting my eye. I was also gradually drowsy due to the side effects of the medication.

Only one eye was operated on me because I could no longer find a donor. I also accepted the woman’s offer to take one of her eyes, so I’m sure she’s also here in this room, lying with me.
