“Yuna and I helped Emmeline up and brought her out of the house. She stayed at the Blackthorn estate that night,” Minnie explained.
Brody glanced toward the judges, who nodded in confirmation. “Mrs. Kim, in the three months you knew the Maines, was this the only incident of violence you witnessed or heard?” He asked, moving toward his conclusion.
Minnie shook her head emphatically. “No. There were at least three other times before when I heard shouting followed by sounds of physical altercation. Twice I checked on Emmeline the next day, and both times she had visible bruises tried to hide with makeup or clothing.”
“Thank you, Mrs. Kim,” Brody said with genuine gratitude. He turned to face the judge. “I have no further questions, Your Honor.”
