“Your Honor, the summary was included in Appendix B of our disclosure.” Brody nodded acknowledgment as he flipped to another tabbed section of the document. “It states, and I quote, ‘Chief Justice Blackthorn will testify regarding his personal knowledge of relevant events occurring between November 2024 and January 2025.’ We deliberately kept the description vague for witness security reasons, which we explained in our motion filed under seal.”
The judge frowned thoughtfully, flipping through additional pages of the document. Her decades on the bench were evident in the methodical way she assessed the situation, weighing procedure against practicality.
“Yes, I see it now. The disclosure is minimally sufficient.” She looked up, addressing Yuna directly. “Counselor Blackthorn, your objection is overruled. However,” she added, turning to Brody, “I will grant the prosecution a thirty-minute recess following the witness’s direct examination if they request it.”
